Produktion Inc., a Manhattan-based printing company, prides itself on the quality of its work and the personal attention its gives its clients. Having worked with the Produktion Inc. team closely on many print projects, we knew their personalities well and aimed to create a stationery system and website (www.produktioninc.com) that would reflect their distinctive energy as printers. Our design solution focused on the people who work at Produktion. They are a young, playful and hard-working cast of characters — people with whom you quickly deal on a first-name, even nick-name basis. To highlight the company’s printing skills, we designed a stationery system with full-color photographs on the back of each piece. These photographs of gritty pressrooms and printing machinery make reference to the work involved in print “produktion” and offer the opportunity to show four-color printing. In contrast, we limited the design on the front of each piece to simple, clean green type- showing their ability to produce crisp, professional one-color work as well.
