lilo studio has worked with Merrill Lynch to design custom invitations for various special events. For a reception and dinner held at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, we drew inspiration from the interweaving shapes of Native American craftwork. Our invitation set arrived in a colorful die-cut envelope with staggered edges that corresponded to the graphic line art on the cards. For Merrill Lynch's Healthcare Retreats in Arizona, we design a three-panel accordian invite set. The invitations depicted a light-hearted desert scene, filled with warm colors, subtle stripes and swirling graphics, appropriate for the fun, sun and relaxation participants expected at the resort. And for the invitation to a reception at the Annual Meeting of the World Bank Meeting in 2008, we used the geometric shape found in the ornamental ceiling of the Reynold's Center's Great Hall, in which the event was held. The shape was foil-stamped in gold, which created a glistening, confetti-like effect.
